Summary

Throughout the course of 2018, the Department of Labor continued to make certain human resource areas its focus of enforcement for both small and large organizations. With such complex and ongoing changes at every turn, Owners, Managers and Human Resource professionals are required to quickly adjust practices to be compliant in all facets. In addition to the ongoing regulatory changes, SESCO continues see organizations struggle to implement sounds human resource practices such as maintain a compliant employee handbook and implements proper screening and hiring practices. Further, owners must realize the importance of developing a motivating culture and have proper methods to change that culture should it not meet the desired characteristics.

This session will present legal and practical tips on the following: • Discuss potential changes to employment regulations for 2019
• Understand the National Labor Relations Board required changes to handbook policies
• Cover proper screening and hiring practices
• Identify areas to develop and/or change organizational culture
